EDU, Inc. hosted G.A.M.E. Initiative with the Philadelphia 76ers
On Friday March 7, 2008 EDU, Inc. in conjuction with the Philadelphia 76ERS hosted the Getting African-American / Latino Males Educated (G.A.M.E.) event. Students from high schools throughout Philadelphia had an opportunity to complete the EDU, Inc. Common Black College Application, hear presentations from black male professionals, identify mentors, participate in the player introductions, and watch the game between the 76ERS versus the Seattle Super Sonics.
The mission of the G.A.M.E. initiative is to foster a sense of community and self awareness among black and Latino males, while promoting the importance of education.
The success of the Philadelphia G.A.M.E. initiative has led to it becoming an annual event. On Sunday March 15, 2009 at the Wachovia Arena, the second annuall G.A.M.E event will be held before the 76ERS versus the Miami Heat game.
